I have been working with Medina Academy preschool kids since 2010 and enjoyed every minute of it. I believe that children are a treasure and being part of their development and growth gives me great pleasure. As an educator I want to teach them a love of learning and ability to continue to learn on their own. I received my Bachelors in Computer Science and a B.A in Math from the University of Punjab, Pakistan. I have completed the required early childhood trainings. I am originally from Pakistan and have been living in Seattle for the last 14 years with my family. I've been married for the last 15 years and have 2 kids; a son and a daughter. Together we enjoy the outdoor activities like biking and going on hikes.

I have always had a love for children and through working at Medina Academy Preschool I have been able to experience my passion on a daily basis. I am from Cairo, Egypt but have been living in the Pacific Northwest for the past sixteen years. I am a mother of three: a twenty one year old girl, a nineteen year old boy, and a seven year old. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Ain Shams in Cairo, Egypt. I worked at the Precious Heart preschool in MAPS for three years. I have to say it was an amazing experience, Alhamdulillah. I have also worked at the AR- Rahmah academy at MAPS teaching kids Quran.
Before moving here I lived in New Jersey and I worked at Abad El Rahman Preschool. A few summers ago I taught Quran and Arabic at a summer camp. In 2013, I started taking classes on how to become an Arabic teacher at the Pacific Luther College in Seattle. Teaching young kids is my passion because these kids bring out the best in me, and working with them brings me joy. In the past year I finished my associate’s degree in Child Development which allowed me to learn in theory what I have been practicing at Medina Academy. This year in Medina Academy I have focused my teaching on Arabic and Quran which I love because I feel it’s rewarding for me not only in this life but the next.

I was born and raised South India as the eldest in a family of six. I earned a Bachelor degree in Economics at the Bharthithasan University in India. I was raising my two kids in India, while my husband was working overseas. In 2005 we moved to Seattle with my husband and kids. It took me few years to get accustomed to the culture and looking after my kids here. When my younger one started middle school, I decided that it was time to pursue my love for interacting and helping young children. I started volunteering for PTSA and pursed any other volunteering opportunity to grow in the child education field. In 2010, I started substituting in hopes of landing a future job at Medina Academy. In 2011, I was offered a position as a full time teacher and have been happily teaching here since. I earned a certification from Childhood Development Associate (CDA), a national credential program in Washington promptly after to develop my skills.

The noble aspect of teaching is that it imparts knowledge to the receiver while enriching the giver’s. My passion towards the teaching profession stems from the respect and inspiration for my father’s impeccable devotion towards his teaching profession. Born and raised in India, I completed my Bachelors in English Literature, Masters in English (in Annamalai University), and Master of Philosophy in English at Bharadhiar University, Coimbatore, India. I worked as a Language Expert, in Meta-I Technologies, Bangalore, India, before moving to Seattle. Teaching and testing was my core job as a Language expert. Apart from teaching, what has always grabbed my attention is anything that fits into the canopy of spiritualism; the topics just awaken me. Three levels of training in Pranic Healing, further kindled my interest and understanding of the world beyond what we see. Traveling with family has always been an ever-wanting experience. I am Immensely elated with the blessing to serve in an Islamic Institution.

My background includes a BA in political science and a Master's degree in journalism. Nonetheless, teaching is my passion. I have also completed my Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) in 2010. When I am at home, I enjoy taking care of my three handsome boys. I also enjoy nature and travel. I have been teaching at Medina Academy since 2001, and have found that working with preschoolers is rewarding.
I view my position to be the first academic teacher in a child's life, and this is a priceless role. The experiences they gain from their parents are part of a child's daily life; nevertheless the teacher is the one who takes the child beyond these experiences. My preschoolers are like seeds that need to be taken care of. I provide them with a healthy and safe environment filled with lots of fun and love. Hopefully they will grow into fruitful shaded trees which will benefit their family and community. One of the most enjoyable moments with preschoolers is our story time. I can see their eyes shining during the story time, and their facial expressions changing with the event as they try to predict what will happen next. To achieve my goal I need to continue to learn and make sure I am up to date on related early childhood information. May Allah accept our efforts and make our children the ambassadors of Islam.
