Once upon a time, the class of 2030 was introduced to the 17 UN Global Goals. It was on a cold December morning in 2017 at an outdoor assembly. All the students were dressed in thick winter coats and wore hoods and gloves and watched their warm breath turn to a white smokey vapor as it greeted the cold air. Their theme for the month was "The Creator." They were learning about the amazing things their Creator had created and they were learning about what they could create themselves. Their teachers told them that they could create a world that would be a fun place to play in. In the 2017-18 school year, they were in kindergarten. Their school, at the time, had two kindergarten classes, KG1 and KG2. KG1 learned about what they could do to make Life on Land better and KG2 learned what steps they could take to improve life below water. The Stories below show what the Class of 2030 did to improve the Quality of life on Planet Earth.
Their first presentation was on January 26th 2018. They explained to the other elementary classes and adults who came through their classroom that day what Goal #15 and #14 were about. They went through a PowerPoint presentation showing them the steps they had taken to achieve the goals. After their presentations, that class of mixed elementary students would travel together to the next classroom to learn about another goal. The pictures and stories below are of that very day.
